Iraq is a country in western Asia. It has a population of about 39 million. In history it was part of the Persian Empire. Culturally, Iraq has a very rich heritage and celebrates the achievements of its past in both pre-Islamic times and is well known for its poets. Its painters and sculptors are among the best in the Arab world, some of them being world-class as well as producing fine handicrafts, including rugs and carpets. In the 21st century, Iraq faced war and numerous unrest that made its soil uncertain.
Irak je država u zapadnoj Aziji. Ima oko 39 miliona stanovnika. U historiji je bio dio Perzijskog carstva. Kulturološki, Irak ima vrlo bogato nasljeđe i slavi dostignuća svoje prošlosti u oba predislamska vremena i dobro je poznat po svojim pjesnicima. Njegovi slikari i kipari među najboljima su u arapskom svijetu, od kojih su neki svjetske klase, kao i za izradu sitnih rukotvorina, uključujući prostirke i tepihe. U 21. stoljeću, Irak se suočio sa ratom i brojnim nemirima koji su njegovo tlo učinili nesigurnim.
