Your biography
Jana Orlová (1986) is a Czech poet and a performer. Her poems were translated into several languages, such as Hindi, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Greek and Italian. She gained the “Breakthrough Act Award” in 2017 at Next Wave Festival for “crossing the boundaries of literature, fine art and theatre naturally and with ease”. She get the Dardanica Prize in 2020. Her work is to be seen at www.janaorlova.cz. She is an editor in chief of an online culture magazine.

A fistful of sea

Your biography
I’m born in Cittadella (Padoue) in 1980. Since 2007 I live and work in Rome. I published 17 collections of poetry. I’m journalist and I work in international relations. I love poetry and life.

Utroba unutra stvara
djecu izrazitih osjećanja,
što žive u zametku poništenog srca.
Okruženi karminskom rijekom,
ujedinjuju se poput naroda:
rasturaju maslačak,
bore se sa robovskom tišinom,
ostavljajući me grozničavom od osjećanja.
To je vrtoglavica, osjećaj odvratnosti.
Osjećam toliko kontrakcija…
Rijeke znoja teku kao munje:
gase svjetla i izblijede,
sipajući smijeh i radost.
Iz dugog porođaja rađa se poezija.

Biography
Glória Sofia, is a dreamer as most poets. Born in the city of Praia in Cape Verde, Gloria shares her dreams with her two children.
She graduated in Engineering and Environmental Management in the Azores, another place that she cherishes for allowing her to continue to be an islander.
Ever fascinated by writing, she has played with words since she was a child, exchanging dolls for diaries, and finding comfort when her secrets and thoughts are guarded in a white page.
Gloria’s poems capture moments of her journey and are full of passion and the emotions as the author herself.
Gloria has grown to make her voice heard in different arenas, believing that in addition to writing about feelings she also needs to speak, shout or take action on some realities.
Among other poetry sites she collaborates with the online newspaper of magazines in the world.
She was nominated to apply for RMAPAI.
She has been invited for 3 University from Boston (April 2019). Harvard University, Tufts University and Boston University for reading and conversation about genre and literature.

She’s also represented her country Cape Verde in VIII Conference in Portuguese Language Literature UMass Boston, gala cidad la paz Bolivia 2020.

Her poetry has been translated into more than 15 languages, in 2020 she win one prize for Union Mundial Poetas Paz Liberdade She participated in International Poetry Festival in (Curtea de Arges) Romania (2016), (Istanbul) Turkey (2017), Ditet & Naimit Macedonia / Albania (2018), festival internacional Bangladesh.

Dodiruješ kožu od nara, pa vežeš.
Dva surova zavoja ograničavaju dah.
Mladenački veo tvoje majke je nasložen (san
jabuke i cimeta koje čuva kamfor).
Drhtavo lice odraženo na fragmentu stakla.
Na krevetu:
poderane pantalone čekaju
tvoju mliječnu kožu.
U daljini: refren glasova i jadikovki.
Tvoj otac
odmara u najvećoj sobi.
Amarantski šal
jedva krije cvijet krvi,
uspomenu na divlji lov.
Sama ćeš čuvati čast kuće,
porodice i sreza.
Sjutra,
suočena sa starijim očima od leda,
negiraćeš da si žena.
To je borba, trgovina za tvoju slobodu.
Zadimljeni podrumi rakije i znoja

*(U ruralnoj Albaniji, od srednjeg vijeka, samohrane žene smatrale su se obeščašćenim, nisu mogle posjedovati ni svoje imanje i nisu bile zaštićene od nasilja. Imale su samo jedno rješenje: da se zakunu da će zauvijek ostati nevine. „Zaklete djevice“ postale su Patrijarsi njihovih porodica, sa svim teretima i počastima muškog autoriteta. Danas u Albaniji ima oko 40 zakletih djevica.)

Un sol gesto ed è in terra la veste
reliquia di donna. S’arrende
ai tuoi piedi la treccia ribelle
di fieri riflessi di rame.
Acerbo il tuo seno. Ne sfiori
la pelle color melograno e
lo avvolgi. Due bende crudeli
costringono il fiato. Piegato il velo
da sposa che fu di tua madre, già sogno
di mela e cannella custodito da canfora.
Un frammento di vetro riflette
le gote tremanti sul letto
calzoni consunti in attesa
di pelle di latte. Lontano un coro
di voci e lamenti. Tuo padre
è composto nella stanza più grande.
A stento una sciarpa amaranto
nasconde quel fiore di grumi di sangue
memento di caccia selvaggia.

constraining the breath. Folded is the bridal veil
that once was your mother’s (a dream
of apple and cinnamon guarded by camphor).
A fragment of glass reflects
your trembling face. On the bed
ragged pants are waiting
for your milky skin. Far away a chorus
of voices and laments. Your father
is resting in the largest room.
Barely an amaranth scarf
hides the blossom of blood
memento of wild hunting.
You’re alone to keep the honor of home,

facing the elderly
with eyes of ice
you’ll deny being a woman.
It’s a fight, a trade for your freedom.
Smoky cellars of raki and sweat

The law of mountains and valleys, of impetuous hastening rivers

(In rural Albania, since the Middle Age, single women had no honor, their possessions were disposed of and they were not protected against violence. Only one solution remained for them: to swear to remain virgins forever. The “sworn virgins” became the Patriarchs of their families, with all the burdens and honors of male authority. Today there are about 40 sworn virgins in Albania.)

Lucilla Trapazzo – Italy– Switzerland

studied German Literature (Rome, Italy), Master Film &Video (Washington, D.C.), art, and theater. She collaborates with several art and cultural association in the organization of events and festivals.
Her activities range among poetry, theater/performance, installations, translations, and literary critiques.
She is poetry editor for MockUp Magazine, Italy, juror of International Poetry Prizes, invited to numerous International Festivals all around the globe.

What makes me different? Probably my nomadic nature, both in life (I lived in different countries) and in artistic expression (always jumping among the different media). In my works I long for a synthesis of the different artistic languages, for instance my poems have some filmic/theatrical elements as well as a touch of sensorial, pictorial quality.

Sjećam se divlje ruže

Sjećam se divne divlje ruže
koja se rasula avgustovskim vazduhom.
Njene krvave i lebdeće suze…
Vjetar je stenjao i jaukao plačom
jer nije mogao podnijeti, zanesen,
tako je bilo u strahovima iverja,
kao da je zaista uboden…
Glasno dišući, žaleći se:
„Iščupao sam se trnjem očaja!“
Rahmanjinova muzika među
avgustovskim ružama je bolovala,
od sezone vrućina nepravedno se razdvaja…
“Ne! Ne vadi ga, moja draga!”
Rekla je, cvileći u mojoj haljini,
i ostavljajući, na vratu, laticu.
„Bilo bi bolje da nestane dovraga
u svom hladnom i bodljikavom zagrljaju,
nego da ruža dobije vremensku grickalicu “.

Your biography
Alexandra Borisovna Mantsevoda was born 1989 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. She started writing poetry at a young age and had her first poem published at 16 in the “Nevsky Almanac”. She then enrolled at the Academy Polar State Institute and majors in French Philology and Literature with Paul Verlaine’s poetry as her major. Her first book, The Flight To The Dream was published during her second year of study. She continued her Post-graduation studies at The Gerthsen State University in the Foreign Literature Department. Her thesis explored translation problems and the metaphor devices in Charles Baudelaire’s works. Some of her papers have been published on the Russian Writer’s House website .
After graduation she’s worked as a Secondary School teacher for 6 years teaching French and English languages and guiding children running the school’s newspaper at the Art’s & Esthetician’s Lyceum.
She has a passion for tango and juggles dancing lessons and tango seminars.

MRTVI ČVOR (Montenegrin version)

Kao sputum na plućima,
lešinari se gnijezde na pepelu mrtve šume,
gurajući stolicu sa samo jednom stabilnom nogom,
izmičući je narodu.

Ekodiktatura, ekocid, geocid –
postoji velika mogućnost da ćemo se koristiti sličnim terminima
skoro svakog dana:
ne samo u slučaju Sibira,
nego i Sahare,
Karpata,
Arktika,
Antarktika,
Nusantara,
i poslednje, ali ne najmanje važno – Amazonije;
jer hiljade primjeraka,
stotine vrsta flore i faune,
desetine ekologa
i jedna planeta koja nije u stanju izdržati potpun napad
su debelo platili zbog zaštite prirode.

Uostalom, šta očekivati
kada će kanibalizam biti uobičajen
za ljubitelje mesa, vegetarijance, vegane i sve slične njima;
i pod nogama naših dehidriranih i gladnih tijela
otopiće se kao kamen tvrd led
dok će nas mučiti ugljenik sa stabala drveća?

Nažalost, koraci naših potomaka
bivaju pregaženi koracima bezdušnih odraslih;
otkrićemo ukus posljedica prije ili kasnije,
a onda ćemo leći u masovnu grobnicu
prekrivenu pepelom i smećem.

DEAD LOOP (English version)

Like sputum on the lungs,
vultures are nestling on ashes of a dead forest,
pushing the chair that has only one stable leg
from under the people.

Ecodictatorship, ecocide, geocide –
there is a large possibility that we will use similar terms
almost every single day
not only in the case of Siberia,
but also Sahara,
The Carpathians,
The Arctic,
The Antarctic,
Nusantara,
and last but not least – Amazonia,
because thousands of specimens,
hundreds of species of flora and fauna,
tens of environmentalists
and one planet that is unable to hold a full-on assault
have paid for their protection of nature.

After all, what we will expect
when cannibalism is going to be usual
for meat-lovers, vegetarians, vegans, and all alike them,
and under feet of our dehydrated and hungry bodies
will melt a rock-hard ice
while we will be tortured by carbon from trunks of trees?

Unfortunately, so long as our infant steps
are stomped by steps of soulless adults,
we will discover the taste of consequences sooner or later,
and after that, we will lie in a mass grave
covered with ashes and trash.

Немов мокротиння в легенях,
падальники вмощуються на згарищах мертвого лісу,
зсуваючи з людства стілець,
на котрому залишилась тільки одна стійка ніжка.

Екодиктатура, екоцид, геоцид –
велика ймовірність, що ми будемо вживати схожі поняття
не тільки відносно Сибіру,
Сахари,
Карпат,
Арктики,
Антарктиди,
Нусантари
і, врешті-решт, Амазонії,
бо за охорону природи поплатились тисячі особин,
сотні видів флори та фауни,
десятки екозахисників і одна планета,
яка не в змозі витримати шквал атак.

Зрештою, а чого ми будемо очікувати,
коли канібалізм стане звичним явищем
для м’ясоїдних, вегетеріанців, веганів та схожих на них,
а під ногами наших зневоднених і голодних тіл
будуть танути брили льоду,
поки нас катуватимуть вуглецем з-під стовбурів дерев?

На жаль, поки наші кроки немовлят втоптують кроки бездушних дорослих,
ми рано чи пізно пізнаємо смак наслідків,
після чого ляжемо в братську могилу,
вкриту сміттям та попелом.

Your biography
21 y.o., I was born in Ternopil’, Ukraine, and I live here as well.

I’m studying software engineering at Ternopil’ National Technical University, almost finishing my master’s degree.

When I have free time to spend, I prefer to play football, sing, listen to music, or capture photos; sometimes I translate from Ukrainian to English to strengthen my knowledge and soft skills in English (thus all English translations of poems I sent earlier in that competition were mine). And of course, I write poems when I have a chance and feeling to do it.

I participated as an author and performer at BookForum in L’viv, Ukraine (2018, 2019) and Creative Youth Seminar in Irpin’, Kyiv region (2019, 2020 (online)). I was also chosen as the participant of the art festival “Ї” in my hometown of Ternopil’ in 2020 but it was postponed up until May 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What makes me different from the others? Perhaps, the fact that I mostly perceive poetry as an environment for experiments – thus I don’t fear to try something new while I’m writing or typing. In my opinion, it’s not very good if you’re framed and can’t make poems that have different themes, rhythms, and forms – especially the latter.

To be honest, that was a very good and thrilling experience as it is the first foreign contest I’m taking part in. And I was stunned (in a good form) for a while because I didn’t have a clue how Nermin found my profile on FB and knew that I’m writing poems. XD

But the further participation in Mili Dueli was and still is totally worth it.

Your biography
Ivanna Samchuk (25.06.1988) is a poet, wife, mother and just a man. She was born in one of the picturesque villages of Rivne region, Ostroh district, Tochevyky. By education manager, graduated from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, Master of Personnel Management and Labor Economics.
In 2008 she began her career with the Poetarch literary association, which operates at the Palace of Children and Youth in Rivne.
During this period it was published in various editions of Rivne, Lviv, Khmelnytsky: “Provincia”, “Free Word”, “Rivne Rakus”, “Life”; almanacs: “Our Circle” in Rivne, “Lira”, “Lithium”; magazines: “Artistic Faces”, “Dnipro”, publication of works of the contest “Journey to yourself”, the book “Revolution of Dignity. War”, the Belarusian magazine “Mladost”, children’s magazine “Miracle Tree”.
A collection of audio poems “We are a step into the future”, where poetry was recorded together with other authors. Published in the magazine “Kindergarten” (magazine for preschool teachers (children’s poetry), following the All-Ukrainian poetry festival in the Almanac “An T-R-Act” (Kherson), “Christmas Carnival of Poetry. The competition certainly inspires and provides new opportunities for poets. For me, personally, this is an experience and a new level. I am infinitely grateful to the organizers. Poetry is God’s blessing, it is an invisible bridge called to unite people! This is a unique verbal expression of emotions, thoughts, views and whole worlds! It is a step towards high, inner enrichment and spiritual growth! Poetry is a love for the word and the path that leads … If poetry is a gift, it helps to carry light into this world and “shine with the word”.

The unspoken is your shadow
I could feel it with my heart
Your lips dried with fatigue and hopelessness,
but your smile overcomes another one of those days
You look at deep skies, wishing to fly away
but you are grounded, with no roots, and no wings belong to your flesh.
Your eyes burn silent fire, sparks before ignition, dark clouds dimming soft light.
You curled your soul – bird over a silent nest.
But for those, who need you – shelter and salvation with you lay rest.
Your strength and weakness both equal true Love, belonging to no one, no exclusivity.
You believe in humaneness , even though the world is its refutation.
You have so much more to speak of, I can hear it with my heart.

Неизказаното от теб като сянка те следва.

Устните ти са пресъхнали от умора и безнадеждност,

Свила си душата си като птица над гнездо – разрушено,

Emi Endqkova, born in Bulgaria January 27, 1984.
From 2011 I live in London, United Kingdom.
I am graduated with a bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from the Southwestern University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad. My occupation is working in early years educational services. Zvukovi razdoblja
u vječnim melodijama
bude se iz vizija
drevnih zamkova.
Ta vladavina, legendarna:
u mističnim bojama,
u fluidnim tonovima,
u bijelom sokaku
gdje pružamo ruke …

Rasprostranjene arome mošusa
i ptice selice koje bježe,
koje odlete…
I padaju,
odjednom,
poput svilenog vela
u dahu vjetra
koji otvara vrata u nebo,
do prelomljene prizme duše.

Kleopatra luta sobama
u blijedom jesenjem danu,
gdje vrijeme razgrađuje hijeroglife i kodove
reflektovane na mokrim zidovima
sa njenim likom.

Topot udaljenih koraka
budi uzdahe
u tihoj šumi,
ogoljenoj od grijeha.
Nevidljivo luta
u tužnim nanosima
neshvatljivog svijeta,
gdje se iluzija gubi
u tihom prostoru
i zaustavlja se na pragu limba
od srebrne magle…
Obavija večernji vazduh,
onda se penje gore
na Andromedinu fotelju

On a pale autumn day
where time breaks down hieroglyphs and codes
reflected in wet walls,

Trampling of distant steps

Juljana Mehmeti ( Albania- Italy)

Juljana Mehmeti was born in the city of Durres, in Albania.
Since she was a child she became fond about literature and writing, especially poetry, a genre that in the following years will turn into a real life motive, a way to better express her ideas, her thoughts, her visions and metaphysics , her point of view according to her consciousness but also improving the awareness of the same suggestion that surrounds the human world. The first book “Soft – Poems” published in Italian language attracted the attention of publishers and Italian literary criticism, not only for its particular style, but also for new words, the language used, the philosophical message and the currents present in her poems that go from Hermetism to Surrealism. The second book comes from the field of translation entitled “Vramendje” – (Rimugino “) of the Italian author Alessandro Ferrucci Marcucci Pinoli, which will constitute the first experience in this field, but will also strengthen his long-standing conviction, to know and translate in his language, many popular Italian authors.. The collection of poems “Oltrepassare” is her new book, which presents itself with the new tendencies of Albanian literature, postmodernism and universal consciousness, from experimental currents to absurdity. She published in English language “In his light” (Demer Press, 2019 and in Italian language “Namasté” (Libri di – Versi in Diversi Libri- 2020). She currently lives and works in Ancona, Italy.

Noćna melodija

Noć i njeni tamni zraci prekrili su grad.
Šetam gradom sam
sa mojom sjenkom.
Sa lakoćom udišem hladnoću u pluća. Noge me nose kroz ulice, krivudave staze, metroe, sokake.
Okolne kuće lijepo blistaju. Ljudi tamo zvuče lijepo, a nedaleko odatle gradska buka i dalje odjekuje.
Koče vozovi, bruje automobili, duva vjetar.
Kroz tiši noćni grad prolaze tiši zvuci.
Život noću je drugačiji.
Tajanstven, kao neotkrivena tajna.
Kao neriješena slagalica.
Priča nikad ispričana.
Hodam pod noćnim nebom.
Glatko hodam u noćni svijet.
Upravo tako.
Kuće, uglovi ulica i noćna svjetla. Kutci, kuće,
otrcane ograde, a opet lijepe.
Sve je lijepo
pod noćnim pokrivačem ušuškano.
Noć se razlikuje od dana.
Noć može biti prilično živahna,
ali volim onu mirnu, kad osjetiš
da je jedina stvar koja te grije samo ona.
Trenutak kada se sve usporava i dolazi samo sjećanje na dan.
Kad povratimo snagu
i pređemo na druge ciljeve dok dan iza ugla čeka.
Tako je lijepa kada obuče svoj zvjezdani ogrtač i podsjeti nas da
postoji beskonačnost iznad nas i mi smo u njoj i tu je naša budućnost i postoje naši snovi koje ponekad
prošapućemo zvijezdama.
Opustićemo se s tobom, draga noći.
S tobom se uvijek sjetimo kako volimo mir, harmoniju i prijatnu melodiju.
Noćnu melodiju.

Melódia noci

Noc a jej temné paprsky prikryli mesto.
Kráčam mestom sám so svojim tieňom.
Chladný vzducch s ľahkosťou vdychujem do pľúc.
Moje nohy nesú ma ulicami, krivými chodníkmi, podchodmi, uličkami.
V okolitých domoch pekne svieti sa.
Tam ľudia pekne znejú a opodiaľ zasa zvuky mesta stále čuť.
Vlaky brzdiace, auta hučiace, vetrík fučiaci.
Tichšie nočným mestom, tichšie zvuky nesú sa.
Život v noci iný je.
Tajomný ako neodkryté tajomstvo tajné.
Ako nevyriešená hádanka.
Príbeh nevypovedaný.
Pod nočnou oblohou kráčam.
Nočným svetom si to šibem.
Len tak popri, domy, rohy ulíc a nočných svetiel.
Zákutia, domy, ploty ošumelé a pritom krásne.
Všetko pekne pod nočnou prikrývkou zahalené.
Noc je iná ako deň.
Noc vie byť pekne živá.
Ja milujem však tú pokojnú, keď cítiš, že jediné, čo na duši hreje ťa, je iba ona.
Moment, kedy všetko spomalí sa a príde už len spomienka dňa.
Kedy znovu naberieme silu a pustíme sa do ďalších cieľov za rohom čakajúceho dňa.
Je tak krásna, keď oblečie si svoj hviezdny plášť a pripomína nám,
že tam nad nami je nekonečno a v ňom sme my a v ňom je naša budúcnosť a sú tam i naše sny,
ktoré hviezdam občas šepkáme.
Pri tebe si drahá noc oddýchneme.
Pri tebe si vždy spomenieme na to,
ako milujeme pokoj, harmóniu a príjemnú melódiu.
Melódiu noci.

Night Melody

Night and its dark rays covered the city.
I walk around the city alone with my shadow.
I breathe cold air into my lungs with ease.
My feet carry me through the streets, crooked walkways, subways, alleyways.
The surrounding houses shine nicely.
People there sound nice, and from not so far away, the sounds of the city still echo.
Braking trains, humming cars, wind blowing.
Through quieter night city, quieter sounds flow.
Life at night is different.
Mysterious as an uncovered secret.
Like an unsolved puzzle.
Story never told.
I walk under the night sky.
Smoothly walking in the night world.
Just like that.
Houses, street corners and night lights.
Nooks, houses, shabby fences and yet beautiful.
Everything nicely under the night blanket draped.
Night is different than day.
Night can be pretty lively.
But I love the calm one when you feel that the only thing that warms you is only her.
The moment when everything slows down and only the memory of the day comes.
When we regain strength and move on to other targets around the corner of the waiting day.
She is so beautiful when she puts on her star cloak and reminds us that
there is infinity above us, and we are in it, and there is our future, and there are our dreams that we sometimes
whisper to the stars.

Im from Slovakia.
I love sports (run, swimm), ART, reading books, traveling with my wife
Im working as a consultant and Im as well independent artist.

My poems is inspired by life.
Wins, but also loses and my spiritual progress.
When I seek inspiration, I find it in observing my surroundings, in the perception of my own heart.
My poems are not an expression of grief over life, regret of situations that hurt me or me being disappointed with love.
When I write, I perceive some responsibility to the reader, to his feelings.
I want him to feel better after reading my poems.
To feel a certain depth and harmony from the present moment, no to be afraid to look into the future and dream of even his greatest goals.
I wish my readers many free feelings in reading and not only in reading, but also in life.
