Родена съм на 27.11.1993 г. в град Пловдив, България. Завършила съм хуманитарна гимназия – ГХП “Св. Св. Кирил и Методий”. След което, завърших бакалавър “Психология” и магистратура “Управление на Човешките Ресурси” в ПУ “Паисий Хилендарски”.

През 2020 г. създадох бранд за подаръци – “Компоти”, който има за цел да стимулира хората да бъдат по-искрени, смели и емпатични. Като 10% от печалбата дарявам на “Фонд Нашите Родители”. Една покупка се равнява на 1 безплатен обяд за възрастен човек в Северозападна България (най-бедният регион в Европа). През 2022 г. реших, че не мога да се справя повече сама с менажирането на бизнеса и го продадох. Към момента съм Creaive Lead в компанията, която го купи.

Не знам колко би било инетерсно на другите, но ходя на курс по Философия, фен съм на европейското кино, посещавам психотерапевт и всичко свързано с психологията ме пали. Обичам щурите купони, харесвам vintage модата и се ентусиазирам от всякакъв вид изкуство. Едно от странните ми нови хобита е да си купувам стари писма, да ги чета и колекционирам. Разбира се, една от най-големите ми наслади, е да чета и да пиша.
Това, което е най-ценното за мен, е обичта, която си разменяме. Всичко друго се върти около това.

Както в повечето държави, и в България, най-големият проблем е насилието във всичките му форми. Който засяга и друг огромен проблем – апатията. Едни от най-страшните моменти, са когато видиш, че агресията се е првърнала в нещо нормално, обичайно и приемливо.

В България всяка трета жена е била жертва на някакъв вид насилие. Моята майка е част от тази мрачна статистика , съответно аз и сестра ми израстнахме в домашно насилие и в тази така удобна апатия, на всички роднини и близки.

Обаче, един ден си казах, че не мога да мълча повече и издадох втората си стихосбирка “Ембрион на тъгата”, която е посветена на моята майка и всички жертви на насилие, на детето в мен, както и на всички деца, които трябва да живеят с последствията от цялата тази болка. Костваше ми огромно усилие, да споделя за този период от живота си, но не съжалявам, защото след това, няколко мои приятели ми споделиха, че също са имали подобно детсво. А 2 години по-късно, моя близка приятелка ще издава много вдъхновяваща книга за своето детство в насилие.
Разбира се, осъждам всякаква форма на насилие. Не само към жени, но и към мъже, деца, насилие по хомофобски, религиозни или расови причини. Насилието няма оправдание.

Така че, не само вярвам, че поезията помага за мира, а го видях и преживях. Може да е само няколко души. Това пак е достатъчно, защото те могат да вдъхновят още няколко души и така предадем вдъхновението нататък.

Но още по-важно от изкуството е обичта. Защото всички насилници, някъде там, не са били достатъчно обичани. Кой щастлив и обичан човек има желанието да обижда и наранява? Затова нека обичаме дълбоко и откровено и сублимираме болката и гнева си в нещо съзидателно.

I was born on the 14th of June 1990 in my mother’s home town Pleven. I grew up between Pleven and Varna, I’ve studied five languages, out of which I managed to learn three and a half. Then I graduated in both Journalism and Law, resectively from Sofia University and from New Bulgarian University. My minor programme was Oriental Studies. I then specialised in Media Law and the role of the media in armed conflicts in Sarajevo and I am pretty sure that my deep interest in the volume and meanings of free speech and in the unattainable simplicity of life was born there and then. Later on, I participated with some of my short stories in the Almanac ‘New Bulgarian Literature’ Prose 2018. A few years ago, I finally managed to leave corporations, corporate ideals, and the stereotyped idea of ​​success and happiness. I am currently the Chief Editor of a feminist online media, I am engaged in social activism and I share anti-authoritarian views. Interested in feminism, ecology, human rights, controversial art, anti-pop culture, mental issues, the origins of languages, the world beyond the status quo, people with presence and history, the phenomenons of entropy… and probably how to make what I just wrote sound less poseur. I consider myself an ambivert and I could not survive without earphones.

In my opinion, the main problem with peace in my country is a systematic one. There’s social, economic, cultural and political segregation that has been cultivated and reciprocated on purpose over the years by the ruling system, no matter who in particular had represented it by the time. There’s fake news, there’s targeted propaganda, there’s a lot of social injustice and all of this prevents most people from being empathetic critical thinkers. I don’t see this as a problem in my country solely. These days, the solid distinction between countries and nations is more of an issue that is being artificially fed and maintained due to the fact that people are easier to be manipulated and governed if there’s some kind of antagonism between them.
For me, poetry itself and art in general are a subtle way to reach to people’s hearts and relate to everyone’s personal narrative in a way that would find common ground between different approaches to the same basic human values. Poetry expands one’s own personal borders, makes them more flexible and soft. A poem can reach parts of our souls that science and facts cannot. No matter how smart, logical and educated we think we are, our major drive in life is always emotion-related.
In view of all this, I believe that the worldwide distribution of a digest with all poems in this competition, divided by topics and not by nations, would be a good idea to demonstrate the variety of approaches and interpretations to the same values and issues, to remind us how similar we can be, and to send a clear political message of peace.

Dayana Chobanova was born on December 28, 1993, in the town of Lom, Bulgaria, situated along the Dunav River in the northwest. In 2019, she published her first book of poetry, “The Silence Knits Desires,” as an indie paperback. She began her involvement in the “New Asocial Poetry” project in 2021. She has, received recognition in 2022 by winning a prize in the poetry competition “My Mother, My Holy Mary.”

Dayana Chobanova is a versatile writer, contributing to the world of literature through her poetry, short stories, and aphorisms in both Bulgarian and Macedonian. Known for her diverse literary contributions, she is frequently invited to host various literary events.

One of the key issues affecting peace in Bulgaria is social and political divisions. Poetry can help by promoting understanding, initiating dialogue, preserving culture, inspiring change, and providing emotional healing. Through its ability to foster empathy and discussions, poetry can contribute to building and maintaining peace in the country.

Родена съм на 10 януари 1988 година в България, сърцето на Родопа планина, град Смолян. Завършила съм ПГ по Туризъм. През 2002г. започнах да виждам свише картини в главата си и да ги описвам, така вече 21 години се занимавам с писане. Написах, само издадоха и релизирах с премиери в цялата ни страна 15 книги, (12 с поезия и 3 романа), като 13 от тях излязоха на бял свят в последните 4години. Имам интерес към фотографията. В момента работя в сферата на застраховането и търговията.

Мира във всяка една страна зависи от самосъзнанието на хората. Мисля че изкуството би помогнало за запазване на културните ценности в страната ни, което само по себе си би направило хората по-добри и смирени. Свободата на словото и истината също са важни за мира в душите, сърцата и съответно в държавата ни.

My education is in the field of nuclear physics and elementary particles. For nearly 10 years I am part of the literature life in Bulgaria, having 4 books published and managing a publishing house called Scribens (since 2017th). I love paleontology and football. The ongoing war in Ukraine is the main social topic that keeps me awake and just in less than 4 weeks I’ll be visiting Odessa with my new book “The Last Buenos Aires” dedicated to the fight for being a free-breathing creature in this messed up times.

Bulgaria has a big problem with the still strong Russian spying and it’s destructive influence over the normal way of the government work and the prosperity of the country. Most of the problems of peace here are due to hybrid wars, fake news and abroad-imported propaganda.

Не мога да намеря двойника си
в некролозите, сраснали се с дървото.
Сякаш, като заковеш некролога няколко пъти, умножаваш безсмъртието,
а не смъртта.
Покрива се мъртво с мъртво
върху живото дървесно тяло.
Компост от спомени.
Тук никой не ме помни,
не е имал моята кръв.
Аз така и не знам коя е моята група.
Мога да съм всяка.
Баща ми е B, a майка ми – А.
Баща ми има съсирек в мозъка си.
Съсири се в мозъка ми.
Защо не му казах нищо?

Може би трябва да съобщаваме смъртта,
но защо трябва да я обновяваме –
40 дни, 6 месеца, година.
Може би показваме, че сме живи –
времето тече за нас?

Не, спря,
съсири се времето
и на никъде не отивам.
Превърнах се в това дърво с некролозите,
хапещи се за това кой да бъде запомнен.

Дървото не го ли боли?
Не се ли задушава под всичката тази тежест от истории и очаквания,
роли – „Любящата майка, дъщеря и колега“, „Добър баща, отдаден служител, мил син“,
предвидености, разкрасявания, блудкавости и кич.
Смъртта е кичозна.
Не можем ли просто да станем пръст или прах?
Оставете ме на мира!
Искам да ме разпръснете след моята смърт,
да мога да танцувам по вятъра
и да не съм съсирек или дърво на никого.

THE NECROLOGY TREE

I can’t find my double
in the necrologies merged with the tree.
It’s as if by nailing the necrology a few times, you multiply immortality,
not death.
Dead is covered with dead
on the living tree body.
Compost of memories.
Nobody remembers me here
they don’t have my blood.
I don’t even know which type I am.
I can be anyone.
My father is B and my mother is A.
My father has a clot in the brain.
He clotted in my brain.

Ne mogu naći svog dvojnika
u čituljama spojenim sa drvetom.
Kao da zakivajući čitulju nekoliko puta umnožavaš besmrtnost,
a ne smrt.
Mrtvi su prekriveni mrtvima
na živom drvetu tijela.
Kompost uspomena.
Ovdje me niko ne pamti,
nemaju moje krvi.
Čak ni ne znam koja sam grupa.
Mogu biti bilo koja.
Moj otac je B, a majka mi je A.
Moj otac ima ugrušak u mozgu.
On se zgrušao u mom mozgu.
Zašto mu nisam ništa rekla?

Možda bismo trebali objaviti smrt
ali zašto je obnavljati –

Bozhana Slavkova is a young (born 26.07.2004, a Leo) artist and activist.
She works in the fields of music (playing flute, guitar, and composing), literature, cinema, photography, visual arts, theater, performance. She began her creative journey with the flute at the age of 7 in the Pleven music school. She graduated the National School of Music and Performing Arts “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, Burgas, majoring in flute.
She has been engaged in poetry since she was little, and her entire worldview is marked and shaped by her poetic nature. Her first first prize for a poem was from the competition of Rotary Club Burgas “My city, my Burgas” in 2016. Subsequently, she won many prizes from literary competitions, many of which she won three years in a row, such as “Veselin Hanchev”, “Petya Dubarova “, “Nikola Vaptsarov”, “Stoyan Mihailovski”, “Georgi Davidov”, “Resurrections”, “Sparks”, “Little poetics”, “, “Flying speech”, “Orpheus’ fire”, “Fireflies in the hands of time” , “…and I think you are Her”, “I love you, sea”, “Let’s conquer the whole universe”, “Love is…”, “Milka and Emil Koralovy” and many others. She has had her work published in the literary magazine “Ah, Maria”, in the youth magazine “WEMatter”, in the online magazine “New asocial poetry”, and in various anthologies of contests. She has a clearly expressed social opinion, which she demonstrates by winning contests like “#ThisIs – contest for bold ideas” in which she wrote a new governmental order. Her art, especially her visual art, deals with social and ecological issues.
Bozhana is involved in photography and visual arts. She mainly works in the fields of art installation and collage. When she was only 16 years old, she organized her first eco-social art installation “Hugged Nature”, which dressed urban trees in knittings made from old clothes, raising questions about “fast fashion” and the logging of urban trees, the place of women in art and our society, the passing on of the traditions. Last year, she realized “Hugged Nature” again, this time not in Burgas, but in the American University in Blagoevgrad, and for this purpose, she won funding from the Bulgarian Fund for Women.
In 2022, she made her second eco art installation “You are the changes” in Burgas, financed by WWF. The art installation of mirrors offers passers-by a look at their involvement in both climate change and its solutions.
In 2022, she also created the three-dimensional collage “Me recycled”, which was placed in the Space for Contemporary Art “Luna”, winning a scholarship established to support young artists. There are many more nascent visual projects on the go.
Bozhana has several short films, her first with the Burgas film lab program for teenagers, she also makes films with Nadezhda Koseva’s film class at the International Sofia Film Fest, in which she participated for three consecutive years. She works on several projects of her own, including poetic video art in which she is the director, composer, screenwriter, operator, and actress. She mainly works as a director, assistant director, screenwriter, set designer.
Bozhana is interested in contemporary forms of art such as performance, sensory and verbal theater. She has participated in seven sensory theaters at different festivals. She has been a performer in the performances Drift and (Un)seen in Burgas, Bulgaria, and Super Simbionte in Venice, Italy.
She was an actress and interviewer in the verbatim theater “The End of the Song”, presenting the story of different people who lived during the communist era in Bulgaria. The theater was staged twice in Sofia due to its great success.
She is developing her own verbatim theater “Is there such a thing?” that talks about the history of the queer people in Bulgaria.
With music, she participated in the audio-visual concert “Reflector”, in the concert “Osmosis with a breath of folklore” by the famous countertenor Dimitar Arnaudov and in the puppet show “Born under a lucky star”, she participates in Still Sessions organized by the “Institute for Silence Research”.
With the flute, she has won various awards from the competitions “The Sound of Time”, “The Ship of the Arts”, and “Varban Varbanov”.
Bozhana participates in many trainings, exchanges and volunteer activities. She has attended trainings of Greenpeace, Za Zemiata, BFW, WWF, master classes for flute, dance, poetry, theater, cinema and others. She has been to 5 Erasmus+ exchanges on various social and environmental topics. She has been a volunteer for SIFF, BIFF, Open Buzludzha fest, Wake up, “Water”, Beglika, for Greenpeace, BBF and many others.
Bozhana is an active young person with a strong social position in the spheres of feminism, ecology, equality, human and nature rights, queer rights and others.

The main problem blocking peace, standing as a wall in front of it, in Bulgaria and in the world is the blindness and ignorance of people. Everybody is looking at the others from their own tower, not trying to understand them, to sympathize with them, to see we’re all humans, everybody is seeing the others just as the others. We don’t know about each other and not knowing leads to fear and fear leads to aggression. Men fear women, straight people fear queer people, Bulgarians fear Roma, locals fear immigrants. All of that because we don’t know each other.
Poetry is a very direct way to get to know the inner world of the other, to understand them on the deepest, most human level. Poetry should present the very core of the writer and should go to the very core of the reader. Poetry is also therapeutic, even if it doesn’t end up in the hands of a reader, everyone should write poetry from time to time to let their sorrows and dreams out on the paper and to make something beautiful out of them, saying to them – “you’re me and you’re worthy to exist as art. “

svjetla se gase jedno za drugim
i ništa se ne može učinitikakav značaj ima
što dan se nadima kao jedro
po površini ljeta
kakav značaj ima slatkoća trešanja
kad košpice napuštaju usta

ponekad mi se čini

I have been working in the field of nuclear energy for 10 years. I love the combination of physics and poetry. I like to go to the cinema alone. My husband proposed to me on a gondola in Venice. We have a three-year-old daughter who makes up amazing stories.

The main problem in Bulgaria is the political situation. But we Bulgarian poets are increasingly socially engaged. In 2022 we strongly stated our position against violence and war with the book “Poetry Against War”, published under the logo of the Scribens publishing house, in which book I also participate. It includes poems by 101 authors – over 80 Bulgarian.
