LEADERSHIP IN PEACEBUILDING

2012 – Mili Dueli” – Project for Intercultural Dialogue / Online Balkan Poetry Contest (Jajce,  Bosnia and Herzegovina)

* In the 10 years of its existence, the Contest has organized a total of 8 seasons and thus presented several thousand poets from all Balkan countries, but also from non-Balkan countries. In the eighth season, it presented 739 poets from 52 countries of the world. The contest consists of five elimination rounds through which the applicated poets pass.

* Nermin performs the function of Organizer and Jury Member at the contest. Interesting rules that he devised enabled millions of views of the official website of the contest. Also, social networks have tens of thousands of followers of the contest in total. A detailed analysis of the poems enabled the development of public literary criticism in the Balkans.

* The project has established on tens of thousands of poets’ connections from different countries of the world. The American Forbes (New York, United States of America) wrote about Nermin’s engagement against hate speech through a poetry contest, and in article published in 2018, they pointed out that Mili Dueli is the most popular poetry competition in the former Yugoslavia.

*At the event, the poem “Dom” won first place in the category Poem of the Year and his book “Rustem’s Wish” was named Book of the Year in North Macedonia.

2022 “Jajce Municipality Award” on the Jajce Municipality Day for outstanding results in culture (Jajce,  Bosnia and Herzegovina)

*He is the youngest winner of this award in its history.

2023 third place at the 12th international competition of magazine Avlija for the best unpublished poem in the region, for the poem “Brada“ (Rožaje, Montenegro)
