on korača ovom novom Zemljom sigurno
njegovo vrijeme, njegova zemlja –
i u njegovoj ruci, naša nada.

BOY IN PICTURE
it’s what we’ve left him, no, this parched land
these glowering clouds of malevolent rain
new worlds have started with too much angry water
climate change too belongs to myth, some say
a scorching sun, venomous air, mankind itself uproot
a past that once knew Spring, knew seasons –
that destruction must precede beginnings
seems all we’ve learnt of hope
but here’s a picture of a boy who doesn’t care
for yesterdays – he strides this new Earth surely
tossing all that falters carelessly behind his shoulder
letting every minute lost slip through his fingers
his feet itch to move forward, ever forward
towards a planet like an orb in his hand
a planet we cannot hope to understand –
his time, his land –
and in his hand, our hope.
