Mi nijesmo samo brojevi
ili mete koje odlučiš pogoditi.
Tvorac si mača, ne duše.
Spališ nas da osvijetliš svoje tmine.
Naše meso, našu kožu i naše kosti, tvrdiš da posjeduješ.
Naši krici umiru pod tvojim čizmama
i naši snovi, naši obični, svakodnevni snovi;
ti im se smiješ i pokušavaš ih izbrisati iz našeg sjećanja.
Ubijaš nas pred nama
i prisiljavaš da gledamo našu scenu smrti iznova i iznova.
Želiš nas slomiti.

Ti si tvorac mača, ne duše.
Mi smo duše uronjene u meso:
osjećamo, patimo, plačemo,
smijemo se i sa našim smijehom
sjemenke razbijaju svoje ljuske – izniknuće sadnice.
Mi smo radostan cvrkut ljubavnih ptica,
najslađa pjesma kiše.
Mi plešemo s kapima kiše.

O tvorče mača, o, tražitelju moći,
o, ponosni, o, okrutni;
ti ne znaš:
možemo procvjetati kroz uske otvore.
Čak ni tvrdo kamenje ne može zaustaviti naš rast.
Mi smo suština ljepote,
miris Božjeg daha.
Mi smo poput kosmičkog toka:
kroz tlo i zvijezde protičemo.
Mi smo istina.
Mi ne umiremo.
