O, mila kraljice ljeta!
Zašto si među svim cvijećem najdraža?
Visoka u stasu, boje tako svijetle!
Dive ti se svi slojevi života.
Raj si za pčele i leptire,
plešeš za nježan povjetarac,
prijateljica si najsjajnijeg sunca
i gost ove sezone raznobojne.
Tvoja hrabrost gleda u sunce
sat za satom;
po jakom vjetru, oblacima i kiši
pdsjećaš me na trku života.
Tako strpljiva, tako mirna si!
Puna života, blizu i daleko,
puna motivacije, zabave
za svu djecu svijeta!
O, mila kraljice ljeta!
Tvoj oproštaj je tako blizu –
bliže nego pero pjesnika
na papiru ispunjenom emocijama!

O gracious queen of summer!
Why so sweet of all flowers?
Tall in height, colour so bright!
Admirations of all walk of life.
Paradise for bess and butterflies,
Hoofer for mellowest breeze,
Friend of the brightest sun
And a guest of hued season.
Her boldness to face the sun
One after another hour,
Harsh wind, clouds and rain
Reminds me of life to run.
So patient, so peace you are!
Full of life, far and near,
Full of motivations, fun
For the worldly lasses and sons!
O gracious queen of summer!
Your farewell is so near –
Nearer than the poet’s pen
on the paper filled with emotions!

Seeta Maya Rai, an author of ‘Seasons and Senses’ is a high school graduate from Dorokha Lumbay belonging to Samtse District. From her early days in school and till so far, she has written more than hundred poems whereby some of them are published and featured in many anthologies such as Bhutan at her Best, Bharat Vision, World Poetry Tree. She is also a recipient of many writing awards and out of all, the Order of Shakespeare Medal and Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Literary Honour are the prominent international honours in literature awarded by Motivational Stripes, one of the word’s active writers’ forum.

Being a GNH country, Bhutan has not faced any kind of problems regarding peace so far.
