To introduce myself, I am Yelena Aslanyan, live in Yerevan; I am married, with an adult son and a daughter. My first profession was related to programming; I worked in this profession for more than twenty years and delivered lectures in university. I wrote my first stories about twenty years ago, and they were immediately accepted for publishing in “thick” literature magazines. Recognition from readers was followed by the recognition of literary critics. As my prose passed the test of time, I had to make a choice – it was already impossible to combine my beloved work as a programmer and my vocation of a writer. I chose literature and journalism. I am a multiple laureate of literary awards. In particular, my novel “Three Distiches”, depicting the collapse of the USSR and the formation of new realities in the post-Soviet space, twice became the winner of international literary contests, and the chronicle novel “Compressed into Diamonds” about modern Armenia became the silver award winner of the “Open Eurasia 2020”. In addition, I became the winner of “Open Eurasia 2022” in the genre of Dramaturgy. And also I am the winner of the ECG Eurasian Film Festival 2019 in the Book Trailer nomination.

I think that Armenia’s problems stem from the incompetence of our elite, as well as some stubbornness and short-sightedness of the common people. The solution to a problem of this magnitude is to see a leader, including a Poet, who could very accurately and concisely open the eyes of everyone.
