PEACE, I PLEAD

Peace! Peace! Peace!
Peace on earth I plead!

My mother was slaughtered!
With my naked eyes I witnessed!
My father was silenced
By a roaring fierce bullet!
Was it because they were guilty?
No!
Being the Tutsi by tribe
Was the reason!
Ethnic cleansing was the reason!

My wife was cruelly raped
By the heartless beasts!
Called themselves peace makers!
My wife shrieked and wailed bitterly
But it couldn’t help!
She was silenced by the shiny machete
Piercing through her groaning throat!
She was soaked in thick blood of her own!
I was there to witness evils
I was tied on a door post!

My innocent children were slaughtered
Before my unbelieving teary eyes!
Being a Tutsi by tribe, was a noble curse!

Peace is the password to life bliss
Hear to my plea or world
Let the guns and other deadly weapons
Be replaced by handshake
Let the ammunition be replaced by mutual embraces and humanity.

Hear me ooh Israel
Hear me ooh Palestine
Hear me ooh Afghanistan
Hear me ooh Sudan
Hear me ooh DRC
Hear me ooh Syria
Hear me ooh Africa
Peace peace peace I plead
Peace peace world peace I plead!

The world stinks human blood!
Pride is achieved through mass killings
Mass graves paint the world!
People chant people shout
In favour of killing their fellow humans!
Hey! Faithless world
Carry the Bible
Carry the Quran
Surrender wars
For God loves peace!

I’m a peace makers, upcoming poet, teacher by profession teaching English Language and Literature in Tanzania. My hobby is reading poetry and listening to music. I’m a peace maker hopping to make the world a better place to stay. I love nature and wildlife.

Ethnic cleansing is still a problem in my country Tanzania. Pastoral societies are always in conflict with agriculturalists. I’m sure through poetry, such conflict may come to tranquility. Advocating for global peace through writings and publications can eventually foster peace. Humanity must be preached beyond borders so as to ensure peace in the world.
